Using mean bootstrap weights in Stata: A BSWREG revision
Authors: James Chowhan and Neil J. Buckley
Overview
Abstract (English)
This article presents revisions to a Stata “bswreg” ado file that calculates variance estimates using bootstrap weights. This revision adds new output and analytic features. The main feature added to the program enables researches to use mean bootstrap weights while accounting for the number of weights used to generate the average bootstrap weight. The Workplace and Employee Survey dataset will be used to illustrate the usefulness of this program. This revised version of the “bswreg” command is still an easy to use flexible tool, which is compatible with a wide variety of regression analytical techniques and datasets. The bswreg command and design-based bootstrap weights should only be used for inference when it is theoretically valid.
