Canadian Survey on Disability
1986 - 2022
Overview
Summary
The purpose of the Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD) is to provide information about Canadian adults whose daily activities are limited because of a long-term condition or health-related problem. This information will be used to plan and evaluate services, programs and policies for adults with disabilities to help enable their full participation in Canadian society. Previous surveys dedicated to providing information on persons with disabilities are the Health and Activity Limitations Survey and the Participation and Activity Limitations Survey.
The 2022 Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD-R) Restricted file is a separate data module for the 2022 CSD that contains the variables: sex at birth, three-category gender, and sexual orientation. Populations identifiable in this file can be quite small and care needs to be taken to ensure that results of research will meet confidentiality guidelines.
This survey release includes non-confidential documentation. Please contact your analyst if you would like to receive a copy.
