Reproducibility workshop & replication games
12:00AM
June 9, 2023 to June 9, 2023
1280 Main St W, Hamilton, Canada
Please note this session will be held in English only. For our Francophone colleagues, an English session with bilingual presenters will be held in Montreal. Please visit this link to learn more.
This training session is held in a two-part event. A one-day in-person event at McMaster University, and an online workshop held in partnership with the Institute for Replication (I4R).
The one-day reproducibility workshop (June 9) will give you a solid foundation for creating and sharing a reproducible quantitative social science project. You will learn about version control, data citations and deposits, and curating a reproducible repository. You will practice using the actual tools through exercises meant to walk you through the basics of the concepts introduced.
The online workshop (June 14) with I4R will be a full day devoted to replicating a piece of research published in the economics or political science literature with a publication credit in a meta-paper as part of the replication games. Participation in both sessions is recommended, but not required and sessions can be registered for independently. Spaces are limited and preference will be given to attendees who are interested in fully participating. Expressions of interest in the replication games must be made by May 16th, 2023.
CRDCN would like to thank the Institute for Replication, McMaster University Library, the Spark centre, and the Productivity Partnership for their help in coordinating, promoting and hosting the event.
