Future to Discover Project
2003 - 2005
Overview
Summary
The overall objective of the Future to Discover Project is to try to understand whether better information about career choices and/or a promise of financial incentives can encourage students who might not normally decide to pursue post-secondary education (PSE), to complete high school and go on to PSE. Since the release of the public use microdata files in 2013, there were a few developments regarding the FTD pilot project:
- Users reported that the variable of program group membership has not been included in the 2013 release of public use microdata files.
- SRDC had received updated postsecondary education records from New Brunswick.
- The raw data of the baseline student survey and parent survey had not been made available with the SRDC released public use microdata file in Statistics Canada’s Research Data Centre Network.
The FTD data are also linked to Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Platform (ELMLP), the Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, and Canadian Vital Statistics - Death; please contact your analyst to learn how to access this linkage.
