Canada Disability Savings Program
2008 - 2018
Overview
Summary
Statistics Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) are pleased to announce the availability of microdata from the Canada Disability Savings Program (CDSP) administrative records on CDSP beneficiaries. The CDSP contains information on all beneficiaries and holders of Registered Disability Saving Plans (RDSPs) from 2008 to 2018. A RDSP helps save for the long-term financial security of a person with a disability. Each record is specific to the beneficiary, contract and year. The microdata includes information on: Disability Assistance Payment (DAP) or Lifetime Disability Assistance Payment (LDAP) which are payments made from a RDSP to the beneficiary or his/her estate. DAPs are single lump sum amounts. LDAPs are payments which, once started, are payable at least annually until the beneficiary's death or the plan is terminated.
