News, Special Notice
With the election of a majority Liberal government last Monday, the social science community is eager to see what will happened with the long form census, cancelled by the previous government and replaced by a voluntary survey in 2011. Is it too late to reinstate it in time for the next census which is scheduled to take place in 2016? Munir Sheikh et Ivan Fellegi think not, in this article by Tavia Grant published in The Globe and Mail today. But Alain Bélanger and Benoit Laplante press the new government to act very quickly in an open letter signed by tens of other researchers.
