This biennial award commemorates the late Dr Lise Manchester’s abiding interest in using statistical methods to study matters of relevance to society. It is given by the Statistical Society of Canada in recognition of excellence in statistical research which considers problems of public interest and which is potentially useful for formation of Canadian public policy.
Dr. Currie received the award at the society’s conference banquet in Quebec City on Tuesday, May 25th. He accepted it in the name of all the researchers working on policy-relevant research in research data centres across the country.
