Résumé (anglais)
This report addresses the question, “Do body weights of Canadian children and youth vary according to where they live?”. The report also discusses factores that might contribute to variation in body weights of children and youth with settlement type, notably amounts of walking and cycling, and other physical activity. Section 2 reviews the relevant literature. Section 3 provides new analysis of data from the latest cycle of the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth. Section 4 sets out a preliminary proposal for further work to answer some questions arising out of Sections 2 and 3.
