Résumé (anglais)
The authors explore the fertility decisions of Canadian immigrants using women 16 to 45 years of age in the 20% sample of the Canadian Census of Population for the years 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006. They study the relevance of age at migration, ethnic background and family composition on fertility. To investigate the intergenerational assimilation of immigrants they explore the behavior of second generation Canadians using information on parental place of birth.
