Abstract (English)
Education and training now occur throughout the life course and this presentation uses the Youth in Transition Survey (YITS) to examine the educational trajectories of adults returning to college and university. Our results show that the probability of returning to school is higher during the first two years after interrupting studies and among individuals who quit without a high school diploma. But to document the rational (motivation, objectives and strategies) of individuals returning to school a complementary qualitative analysis must be employed as the YITS is silent about these issues.
