We are proud to share that Karen Ugarte Bravo, the winner of CRDCN’s inaugural National Policy Challenge (NPC) in 2019, has successfully completed her defense and received a PhD in Economics from McMaster University.
Her NPC presentation, “Mandatory universal pharmaceutical insurance and prescription opioid use”, used Statistics Canada microdata to investigate and develop innovative, evidence-driven policies that inform real-world Canadian policy-making.
Karen, who has also been a recipient of the CRDCN Emerging Scholars Grant, is currently a Principal Researcher at the McMaster RDC and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.
Congratulations on your well-deserved achievement Karen!
