Researchers can now find the Business-Employee Analytical Microdata (BEAM) in their local Research Data Centre (RDC).
A set of linkable microdata files, the BEAM is an anonymized dataset extracted from Statistics Canada’s tax and administrative data and contains information on all individual tax filers and paid employees issued a T4. It also contains all corporations that filed a T2 tax return and unincorporated businesses with a valid Business Number.
For more information on the BEAM, please visit our website’s dataset page. You can also find more information about the BEAM at this recent webinar from CRDCN and Statistics Canada featuring Statistics Canada analyst Huju Liu.
