2nd Canadian Open Science conference coming to Ottawa in October 2026

The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) and Justice Canada’s Justice Data Modernization Initiative are pleased to announce the recipients of the funding awards.
CRDCN and Justice Canada issued a call for research proposals that would make use of microdata available via the Research Data Centres (RDC) in our network to produce research reports in priority areas to support Justice Canada’s evidence-based activities. The focus for the call for proposals related to the social determinants of people’s involvement in the criminal justice system, and the goal of this research is to support efforts to address the overrepresentation of Indigenous peoples, Black and other racialized groups in the criminal justice system.
The following award recipients were determined after review by the adjudication committee, which included two members from Justice Canada, one member from CRDCN and one member of the CRDCN research community:
