Rapid advancement in the fields of data and artificial intelligence are presenting new opportunities for the public service to develop more profound insights and the capacity to forecast future needs and trends. At the same time, implementing new technology will introduce risks that must be assessed and mitigated to ensure secure, ethical, and responsible service delivery to Canadians.
The annual GC Data Conference, now in its eighth year, is the primary forum for public servants and data leaders to increase awareness, share knowledge, and advance data applications across the Government of Canada.
Participants will engage in discussions on improving service delivery, policy development, and decision-making to support ethical and equitable data usage, human-centred design, and inclusivity when working with new and disruptive technologies.
This year’s theme of “From Insight to Foresight” will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive demonstrations exploring themes such as the intersection of humans, data, and innovation, imagining personalized services for all Canadians with artificial intelligence, and the future of data automation in government.
This event is delivered through a partnership with Transport Canada and the Canada School of Public Service, with the subject-matter support and expertise of the GC Data Community.
