CRDCN is excited to celebrate Love Data Week this year, February 9-13, 2026, an international event dedicated to exploring the value of data and strengthening data literacy across the Network. This year’s theme, “Where’s the data?” invites participants to think about data’s journey, opening the door to engaging conversations about how data moves through research ecosystems and how we can use it.
Join us in celebrating data and learning more about the tools, training, and resources that CRDCN offers.
Accessing RDC Data: Support & Guidance
CRDCN provides researchers with access to rich microdata from Statistics Canada through a national network of university-based Research Data Centres (RDCs). Any student projects are eligible for no-cost access and the availability of pre-prepared data files can be a game-changer for students who are on the clock with their programs.
We have prepared #LoveDataWeek slides on how to access RDC data. Check them out here: CRDCN-love-data-week-slides-2026. You can also check out our webpage for more information.
Upcoming workshop: Health Research Accelerator — Navigating Data
CRDCN is partnering with Health Data Research Network Canada (HDRN Canada) to co-host a special webinar during Love Data Week on February 12 from 1pm to 2pm EST. The session will guide researchers through navigating data access and using Canada’s data infrastructure effectively.

Sharing Data & Funding Acknowledgement
To assist researchers in our Research Data Centres (RDCs), we have drafted two separate funding acknowledgement messages for use with their publications. We encourage RDC researchers to use this messaging to acknowledge the substantial financial contributions of the various funders who make access to needed data possible.
Proper acknowledgement helps emphasize collaborative investment in data infrastructure and promotes good research stewardship.
