Department Description

The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN), hosted at McMaster University, is a national platform for leading edge research and training in the quantitative social and population health sciences, creating social, economic, health and environmental benefits for Canadians. The Network is one of Canada’s major science initiatives and provides researchers across Canada with unique access to Statistics Canada survey and administrative data to conduct advanced statistical research and training.

Job Summary

The Project Support Assistant provides administrative support for collaborative research, training and knowledge mobilization activities under directed guidance from the Director, Assistant Director, or Manager in the CRDCN research portfolio.

Accountabilities

  • Update records by entering data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Conduct database, literature, library and web searches to locate documents and articles used for references on the project.
  • Compose email communications for a specific project, conference or event.
  • Copy, collate and assemble a variety of documents and packages.
  • Collect, maintain and organize hardcopy and/or electronic records/files.
  • Assist with other related duties to contribute to the overall operation of the conference or event.
  • Answer routine inquiries regarding specific to a project, conference or event.
  • Perform other clerical duties of a similar nature, specific to a project, conference or event.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program.
  • Experience: Six months of related experience.

Assets

Skilled in: producing documents containing accurate information that is consistent with template guidelines; developing a work-back schedule to meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
