About SSCAN Data Space

The SSCAN Data Space is envisioned as a collaborative environment where communities working on related data, topics, or research questions come together to share and use data from multiple providers, often under varying sovereignty and security requirements. The data space is community-driven, with established governance structures that guide how data is accessed, used, and maintained. Funding from the Alliance’s National Data Spaces pilot is for a two-year project that will engage and convene the community of users from across the country, and conduct a thorough requirements analysis for the technical architecture and data modelling (including metadata standards and schema) for an eventual repository to support the community and data. The pilot will also develop guidelines and policy frameworks to support governance and operations.
