Data and Insights on off-reserve First Nations people, Métis and Inuit: 2022 Indigenous People’s Survey and 2021 Census
9:30AM
April 3, 2025 to April 3, 2025
Statistics Canada is pleased to announce a series of free presentations featuring Data and Insights on off-reserve First Nations people, Métis & Inuit from the 2022 Indigenous People’s Survey (IPS) & 2021 Census. The presentations will provide key insights into the well-being of Indigenous people. Since 2006, the IPS is a voluntary post-censal survey focusing on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of off-reserve Indigenous populations.
The IPS endeavours to provide key statistics to inform policy and programming activities aimed at improving the well-being of Indigenous peoples. It is a valuable source of information for a variety of data users, including Indigenous governments and organizations, communities, service providers, researchers, federal, provincial and territorial governments, and the general public.
Participants will have the opportunity to better understand the most recent key findings from the 2022 IPS and the 2021 Census focusing on Indigenous children and families and other social and economic characteristics. There will be a Q&A session following the presentation.
